Essex Air Ambulance

People in Essex are very generous is proved by the fact that they supported a charity in which an aircraft is appointed to fly for providing the first medical service to any emergency patient in Essex. The main aim of the aircraft is to help those who are in need of medical assistance before reaching any hospital. The aircraft is called Essex Air ambulance.

This air ambulance is introduced in 1998 for the benefit of the people of Essex. Highly qualified and talented team of doctors and all the modern medical equipments are present in the aircraft so that assistance can be given to any patient within few minutes of report. Till now the aircraft has completed 10,000 missions, which is a great achievement.

If we see it from finance side then 150,000 pounds are spend per month for the maintenance of the aircraft. This amount is cot given by any organization or government but collected by some of the generous and supportive people of Essex. The aircraft used in the service is EC135 Eurocopter. It is very fast and has space for patient along with one of the family member. It has an ability to reach within the remote areas of Essex. Unlike road vehicles the helicopter doesn’t have to face traffic jams and bad road conditions. The good thing is that it is able to provide all the necessary medical facilities to a patient within few seconds and saves the life.

This is the best charity done by the people of Essex. Many people support this cause by some or the other ways. The community organizes many charity events and fund raising events. With the help of the money collected through these events the community members maintain the Essex Air ambulance. Anybody can donate and help the community. We all should learn the lesson of helping others from the people of Essex. This is the best example of charity and good work.

The Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Lord Braybrook launched the Essex Air Ambulance Service on 1 July 1998, from the grounds of New Hall School in Chelmsford.
